Meadows Meal Site
Join your friends every day for a fabulous, nutritious meal served piping hot at 11:30 am at the Community Room at the Meadows Senior complex, off Greenville Road. North Smithfield Mini Bus Service a private, non-profit organization organized in December 1979, is available by appointment to assist with rides to medical appointments, shopping, and in-town services. On Mondays and Tuesday, the bus takes residents to medical appointments scheduled between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Residents must call seven days in advance and the appointment cannot exceed 10 miles from the center of town.
On Wednesdays the mini-bus provides transportation to Walnut Hill Plaza at 8:30 a.m. returning at 11:30 a.m. and Stop N Shop, leaving at noon and returning at 2:30 p.m. There are 14 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. Stop N Shop located at Route 146A is the destination on Thursdays. Residents can use the service at 8:30 a.m. returning at 11:30 a.m. Rides to various North Smithfield locations are available on Fridays including the bank, hairdresser, hardware store, pharmacies and the post office. All trips must be scheduled 48 hours in advance and placed between 8 a.m. and noon. Bus service is not available after 12:30 p.m.
To schedule a ride, call 765-3535 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Friday. No one is available to answer your calls on weekends or holidays.
