Fall Yard Waste Collection

Curbside Collection from Saturday Oct. 4th - Nov. 29th, 2014

It's fall cleanup once again. What should you do with your yard waste.

The BEST Greenest option is to have a compost pile and/or leaf pile. No need to pay to transport or bag this waste. A pile on your property will naturally breakdown and can give ou rich fertile soil next spring.

NEXT BEST option is to take advantage of the seperarte weekly Saturday yard waste pickups. While this keeps yard waste out of our trash amounts, it does require fuels, labor and expense to move this material around our state.

Please remember:

1. Collection takes place on Saturdays.  Please have your yard waste out at the curb by 6 am.

2. Yard waste must be in biodegradable lawn bags or cans clearly marked yard waste.  Plastic bags cannot be used.

3. Curbside pick-up is limited to 8 bags/cans per week. Additional yard waste can be dropped off at the Highway garage with a Town ID.  Please drop off during our business hours.

4. Yard waste mixed with trash, stones or dirt cannot be collected.

Don't throw away unwanted clothing & textiles - recycle instead!      This item can be recycled using the numerous Kiducation boxes located throughout town, pklease NOT in the curbside recycle bin.

All kinds of textiles are accepted in these boxes as long as the items are clean and dry.  Clothing, even pieces with stains or missing buttons can be repurposed.  Un-wearable items are made into rags, stuffing or even insulation.

Accepted items are:  coats/hats/gloves;  bedding/pillows/blankets; curtains; undergarments; boots/flip flops/cleats; purses/backpacks;  stuffed animals/dolls;  scrap fabrics.

RECYCLING Paint now offered at Some Retail Stores.

Residents no longer have to wait to properly dispose leftover paints or stains. Participating retail stores now accept up to 5 gallons anytime they are open.
