Recycling Programs

RECYCLE - There are ways to recycle so many items!

Recycling is sorting like materials so it can then be made into new items, instead of being landfilled. When disposing an item, take a look at what is made of (metal, plastic, etc.) to see if it might be accepted in one of our recycling programs below.

RECYCLING in your Curbside Bin

North Smithfield offers weekly curbside recycling pick-up on the same day as your trash collection. Using this recycling program is the easiest way to reuse valuable materials and reduce your trash amount.

Recycling also saves your tax dollars, precious space in our state landfill, and is good to our environment all at the same time.

What Belongs in the Blue Bin?

Recycle bins are available at the Town Hall located at 1 Main Street and at the Highway Garage. New residents will receive their first bin free. Replacement or additional bins are just $5.

RECYCLING Rigid Plastic, Scrap Metal & Yard Waste

Residents are welcome to bring these accepted items to our Highway Garage, 281 Quaker Highway,  when we're OPEN.
