Welcome to the North Smithfield Heritage Association
The NSHA was founded in 1970 with the mission of "identifying, acquiring, holding, arranging, restoring, maintaining, opening to the public with suitable regulations and preserving for posterity, places, tracts of land, and object of historical, educational, architectural, cultural and aesthetic value in North Smithfield."
Our present membership numbers 135 and we welcome new members. Contact the names below to apply. Our services and the information we share is always available to the public.
We maintain two historically significant buildings in Town: Heritage Hall (previously used as a "Grange Hall") and The Forestdale School House, aka "The Little Red School House."
Need a place to host an event? We have function rooms available for your use.
Heritage Hall makes a wonderful spot to hold Birthday parties, Anniversaries, Showers, Meetings, Family Reunions, Weddings or a variety of get-togethers.

Pickets of Memories
The North Smithfield Heritage Association is eager to start sharing some of the history that has taken place at the "Little Red School House" and started a new program called Pickets of Memories. The goal is to have our beautiful white picket fence that is on the property, lined with plaques stating the names of past alumni and supporters of the historic schoolhouse.
The plaques will be labeled in three groups. The first would be Alumni of the Forestdale School and the next two for supporter of the school house and would be listed as Patron as well as In Memory of plaque.
This is a continual program with pickets being available for $25. They are engraved locally by Dan Couture's Trophy Hutch. The plaques will be mounted on an on-going basis.
